The Bohnhoffs are exceptional in the filk community in that they are fantastic performers besides being good lyricists. Filking traditionally has been about lyric writing, with performance being secondary. If you want an intro from the lyrical side, this guy (Ben Newman) is a fantastic songwriter, who I'd call a "filker's filker": https://www.sccs.swarthmore.edu/users/01/bnewman/songs/ https://www.sccs.swarthmore.edu/users/01/bnewman/songs/ His performances are pretty good too, by filker standards. Newer index: https://bn-songbook.dreamwidth.org/ https://bn-songbook.dreamwidth.org/ Another terrific lyricist (Bob Kanefsky) who specializes in parodizing other filksongs: https://www.songworm.com/ https://www.songworm.com/ There's a fair amount more on youtube etc. but it is best experienced in person. Unfortunately due to Covid I've stopped doing that.
