If they really cared about cracking down on ebikes then they'd only try to nail ebikes, not regular cyclists.
The conspiracy theorist in me thinks that the real reason they're doing this is to help ICE nab a bunch of delivery workers.
- giraffe_lady 1y agoIt's also just that cops hate cyclists. I don't really have a single neat explanation why but it's hard to ride a bike in a large american city without it being obvious that they do.
- dfxm12 1y agoUneven enforcement (like penalties for powdered cocaine vs crack, dress codes, etc.) always come down to classism, racism, etc. It's obvious the prison industrial complex is at play here, whether the appetite is coming from ICE or domestic prisons.
