Is hype cycle effect hitting hard on AI recently? The arguments aren't changing for years, and emotional components in them feel progressively toned down.
- bwfan123 1y agoThe hype cycle is running on FOMO. "as a developer, you will be left behind" And is sustained by fear tactics. "there wont be any developer jobs left" Giant investments are being made, and a lot of people's outcomes rest on them, which incentivizes them to become evangelists for the cause. End-of-day it is a productivity boosting tool like a search-engine or a calculator - whats funny to see the human drama playing out around its adoption.
