Ask HN: How does Nextdoor verify phone billing address matches home address?
- deejaybog 1y agoI'm curious about the technical implementation behind Nextdoor's address verification process. "To verify your account, your phone plan’s billing address must match the address you used to join Nextdoor." Does anyone know how they actually accomplish this?
- pavel_lishin 1y agoI wonder if they don't, and just accept that having a phone number is Good Enough to let someone onto their site - helps cut down on bot registrations, I'm sure.
- toomuchtodo 1y agoVendors exist to get enriched data from phone numbers via API call. “Phone|mobile number intelligence” is the search query to use. (have used for anti fraud in finance)
