I can’t find an analysis of how well these May forecasts track with what actually occurs. And can find assessments of forecast accuracy for specific hurricane tracks and intensities, but no discussion of forecast accuracy for the May assessments of the overall hurricane season. Without an assessment of forecast accuracy over the last 25 years, I’m tempted to think these May forecasts aren’t worth much.
