- andreyf 18y agoIn my defense, I submitted this while testing a Greasemonkey script... didn't think people would actually vote it up.
- ivankirigin 18y agoPlease don't do things to make titles stand out, like using uppercase or exclamation points, or adding a parenthetical remark saying how great an article is. It's implicit in submitting something that you think it's important. http://ycombinator.com/newsguidelines.html http://ycombinator.com/newsguidelines.html
- teej 18y agoThe title wasn't editoralized at all, it's straight from the post. That's fine in my book
- ivankirigin 18y agoAll caps is basically never a good idea.
- Anon84 18y agoThis could easily be fixed with a couple of lines of Lisp...
- andreyf 18y agoThe title was also automatically pulled over by the GM script - I was just too lazy to rewrite it. I deleted the post myself because I felt it wasn't "HN quality", all caps or not. If you disagree, feel free to resubmit: http://ascii.textfiles.com/archives/1717 http://ascii.textfiles.com/archives/1717
- sjs382 18y agoYou missed the main idea of the post. The idea is that for the majority of these "in the cloud" applications, the user is not the customer. An advertiser is the customer. (Unless you pay a subscription fee of course.) Think gmail, youtube, etc. By all means, use the services. Just don't put all of your eggs in one basket if you do.
