I think the problem I'm trying to describe is yes, Spring is popular within the people that do work on Java appications, however the Java/Spring platform is the reason most developers do not want to use Java. Java/Quarkus, Java/Micronaut or even Java/VertX would be more popular if they became the default Java framework in stead of Java/Spring.
