I'm curious why λακωνίζειν needs to be nominalized and φιλοσοφείν doesn't.
- andsoitis 1y agoλακωνίζειν gets nominalized when you want to discuss the concept itself (to act like a Spartan/speak laconically) φιλοσοφείν often remains as an infinitive because it's describing an activity someone does or wants to do (to philosophize)
