This was a well-published tactic on BlackHatWorld about 15 years ago. I love that VC companies have finally capitalized on it…
- TeMPOraL 1y agoVC knew this for just as long. Similar ideas brewed in the business model of TripAdvisor, and eventually crystalized in the form of GrubHub and Uber Eats. I remember a growing amount of articles and on-line discussions about restaurants being extorted this way; then the pandemic came and removed the need for extortion by making delivery necessary for restaurants' survival. It's probably why the whole thing isn't talked about anymore these days.
