- hunglee2 1y agoTrump is a classic bully so you basically need to face him down - any appeasement will simply earn his (justified) contempt, and he'll double down. China showed the way on Trump Tariff War 2.0 - no k1ssing 8ss, no call, no nonsense - just authentic reciprocal action.

- hunglee2 1y agoyes - democrat failure to destroy Trump has now left them terrified to try again. That said, the ones who are failing to oppose are the Republicans, who can see equally well how damaging Trump 2.0 is to US institutions. It's all heading down the the fascist route I am afraid
- jkmcf 1y agoThe problem is he’s a bully with all the power and zero consequences. Look at Harvard, but pretend they don’t have billions of endowments.
- ggm 1y agoI thought it was expressly forbidden in the US psychological professional body to remote diagnose famous people?
- ttctciyf 1y agoTrump is rapidly shaping up as the greatest unsolved problem of the current era. I don't think TFA has the answer though; nothing concrete is proposed. Coping strategies like "keep the faith" and "gray rocking" may succeed (or not) at an interpersonal level, but don't transpose into anything meaningful at scale. Politics, jurisprudence and journalism are where solutions are most needed but there's nothing on the horizon, afaics.

- dp-hackernews 1y agoConfusingly... no mention of narcissism. > "Dr. Jocelyn Sze is a clinical psychologist who specializes in evidence-based treatment of PTSD and anxiety. She is an assistant clinical professor at University of California, Berkeley. She serves on the board of Bay Area Trauma Recovery Clinical Services, a nonprofit advancing trauma-focused training, research, and treatment, as well as the McCune Foundation, which supports grassroots organizations that empower and mobilize historically excluded populations. The expressed views are solely those of the author and do not represent those of her affiliations."
