- inkyoto 1y agoYes. The Cantonese culture as well as the language are very much alive and kicking in Gwongdung and in Gwongsai – the homeland of the Cantonese culture. Both are part of mainland China. The wider area, that also includes Hong Kong and Macau, is known as Lingnan.
