Ooh, VS Code integration for Claude Code sounds nice. I do feel like Claude Code works better than the native Cursor agent mode.
Edit: How do you install it? Running `/ide` says "Make sure your IDE has the Claude Code extension", where do you get that?
- ChadMoran 1y agoI've been looking for that as well.
- ChadMoran 1y agoRun claude cli from inside of VS Code terminal. https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=44064082 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=44064082
- k8sToGo 1y agoWhen you install claude code (or update it) there is a .vsix file in the same area where claude bin is.
- modeless 1y agoThanks, I found it in node_modules/@anthropic-ai/claude-code/vendor
- jacobzweig 1y agoRun claude in the terminal in VSCode (or cursor) and it will install automatically!
- michelb 1y agoWhat would this do other than run Claude Code in the same directory you have open in VSC?
- modeless 1y agoShow diffs in my editor windows, like Cursor agent mode does, is what I'm hoping.
- manmal 1y agoClaude Code as a tool call, from Copilot‘s own agent (agent in an agent) seems to be working well. Peter Steinberger made an MCP that does this: https://github.com/steipete/claude-code-mcp https://github.com/steipete/claude-code-mcp

- rw2 1y agoClaude code is a poorer version of aider or cline in VScode. I have better results using them than using claude code alone.
- phyalow 1y agoHave you upgraded your binary recently. I feel like this was true 1-2 months ago, but not anymore.

- kofman 1y agoLet us know if you were able to get it installed. You need to run claude inside the vscode (or cursor/windsurf) terminal for it to auto-install.
