This is actually the sentiment I had about Google Glass - people (and tech) were not ready then, but I think that slowly the world is moving towards the acceptance that everything is being recorded and analyzed, by default. I just hope that we'll still be able to have some private spheres where there is no recording, but am concerned that this would have to be enforced by just not having any electronics there at all.
- duxup 1y agoThe idea of Google glass in the bathroom still creeps me out. >just not having any electronics there at all A few decades ago the company I worked for sent people out to a government contractor's site and the rule was ZERO electronics. Outside you and your clothing nothing that went in came out. Your car and keys were kept at the gate securely. You were blindfolded and lead to the location to do your work. Blindfolds aside, I think that's the future.
- andrewfromx 1y agoGoogle glass in the bathroom - like a locker room at a gym? Yeah, but then again any picture taken of someone fully clothed AI can just remove the clothing. There was this new "Take it down Act" law just passed. But with AI it's almost moot? Any picture can now be just altered to be explicit.
- flir 1y agoNo, it can replace the clothes with a naked body that is statistically representative of the naked bodies found in American porn. No matter how many times I try, it never renders my third nipple correctly.
- falcor84 1y agoI actually checked on civitai now and was flabbergasted that no one apparently posted a third nipple LoRA. There is a third breast LoRA [0], but I couldn't find a basic third nipple. [0] https://civitai.com/models/15074 https://civitai.com/models/15074 (obviously NSFW)
- delfinom 1y agoYea they don't do blindfolds these days. They tend to just have projects in their own independent rooms. No electronics are still a rule. You leave your phone with security at the front desk if you need it more accessible than the parking lot.
- duxup 1y agoIn this case the location was in the American southwest and the "front desk" was a gate.
- flir 1y agoPrivacy (or maybe, more precisely, anonymity) was a temporary side-effect of the industrial revolution and the move to cities. We didn't have it in villages, and we won't have it in the global village. (Not an original idea, but I can't remember who I stole it from. Maybe it was David Brin).
