There are companies working on this, but my understanding is that the training data is more challenging to get because it involves reinforcement learning in physical space. In the forecast of the AI-2027 guys, robotics come after they've already created superintelligent AI, largely just because it's easier to create the relevant data for thinking than for moving in physical space.
