1,700-year-old wooden water pipe unearthed in Belgium
- ggm 1y agoLeading with an AI image of an imagined wooden pipe, has real pipe photo lower down. Bad dobby! Bad elf!
- card_zero 1y agoThat's delightfully bad. The archeologists are dressed somewhat like the nazis in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, except I think that the hat of the one on the left is trying to morph into a pith helmet. The wooden pipe is apparently a plastic log from an amusement park ride, and their job is carried out somehow by poking it with thick lengths of dowel. It looks like those also function as measuring sticks, when not being used for the poking procedure.

- card_zero 1y agoI wonder how they drilled a six foot long hole, and kept it on target. Some gigantic Roman bench drill?
