I don't need to understand who the other person is. I know they're a scammer because they are hitting me with a scam proposition. RE: mixers, play stupid games, win stupid prizes. It's hard to describe a mixer as something other than a money laundering tool. By using mixers, you're putting yourself alongside money launderers, and it should be no surprise if the authorities assume you are complicit.
