This feels alarming to me. Yes, I can see how it could help deradicalise people, but it's also the perfect type of tool for an authoritarian government or other type of authority that disagrees with the public sentiment on a subject. I can see the Trump admin wanting something like this to tie up those that disagree with their recent policy decisions, and many governments seeing any support for Gaza as something radical that needs this sort of response too.

We all need to collectively accept that we're dealing with the most effective propaganda tool ever created, and have been dealing with it since before we even knew it was possible to create

What happens when you strip objective reality away from people, isolate them, harass them, coerce them, without any agency (hint: these same elements in aggregate meet a clinical definition of torture). How much exposure is too much? Every person is different. There's 50+ years, of established material that touches on the perils of this subject matter. Joost Meerloo, Robert Lifton, and many of his partners who researched cult deprogramming. At its core, this tool strips objective reality from people, isolates them, and does so an arbitrary basis (who defines radical?), and the effect is outcomes towards distorting the person's reflected appraisal. It doesn't de-radicalize them... it melts their brains in a trauma loop, and people fall into two groups under such psychological induced stress. The first is disassociation, the second is violent psychosis, but not normal psychosis; a semi-lucid psychosis capable of planning. Each person is different and has different exposure limits, so the resulting outcomes is either no communication, or chaos. This violates the Geneva convention on human rights, and worse, the entire concept of informed consent. Highly unethical and evil.
