This has been pointed out repeatedly --- by the press and during the last presidental election.
Who did voters choose to believe? The guy who lied and is still lying about the fact that tariffs are a tax paid by US consumers, not foreign producers.
Who will be the one's hardest hit by this new consumption tax? Many of those who voted for it. Stupid is as stupid does.
- jkestner 1y agoIt is hard to tie cause and effect together for people here. Prices may go up months after the tariffs got coverage, they may be slipped in with shrinkflation, they get lost in the noise of your personal budget, etc. My goal here was to provide a different perspective that highlights the problems beyond price.
