Candide and White Noise I accidentally read prior to the class, not knowing they were curriculum books. Both I found absolutely hilarious. Both failed to elicit even a minor chuckle once it entered the classroom. Not from the students, not the teacher, and somehow not even myself. I don’t know what how classrooms are so categorically destructive to the book they purport to teach
