Ask HN: What application or website would you use to teach a kid how to type?
Looking for something fun and engaging that the kid will want to keep working through the challenges on.

- brudgers 1y agoHow old is the child? What game alternatives do they have? What intrinsic motivation do they have? To what level are you engaged in “typing time?” Typing is probabaly not gonna’ compete well with minecraft or a playstation. I suspect if you aren’t participating as a peer, typing won’t seem very important against the options. Mavis Beacon was a more engaging way for motivated adults to learn typing. With kids if it only had to compete with Oregon Trail and the child was excited about computers, it might also work. But those days are long gone. Good luck.

- Desafinado 1y agoI've done some research on this previously and have heard that 'Typetastic' is very good. Haven't tried it yet, though, as my kids are still too young.
