Legacy car companies haven't realized that good UX is no longer optional. If the system people use to interact with your car is unpleasant or unusable garbage, it ruins the whole car. Just like it doesn't matter how good your kitchen is if the waiter is rude and spits on the food in front of the customer. And yet most of the companies don't seem to be willing to spend the one-time cost of getting the UX right.
