[supplementary] Radial chromatography: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radial_chromatography https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radial_chromatography when liquid phase is applied to impermeable solid, i.e. glass sheet. you have solid phase "radial" chromatography.

This is not the same phenomenon though? Chromatography is based on different adsorption affinity of the different molecules of the liquid to the stationary phase.
