Cosmos 482 Descent Craft tracker
- WalterGR 1y agoThis almost certainly just shows its usual orbit. I've had no luck finding a source of real-time info. The European Space Agency (ESA) publishes occasional updates here: https://blogs.esa.int/rocketscience/2025/05/07/reentry-prediction-soviet-era-venera-venus-lander-cosmos-482-descent-craft/ https://blogs.esa.int/rocketscience/2025/05/07/reentry-predi... . The most recent one is from about 1h20m ago: "10 May 09:56 CEST. As the descent craft was not spotted by radar over Germany at the expected 07:32 UTC / 09:32 CEST pass, it is most likely that the reentry has already occurred." This was published about 20 minutes ago, but basically just quotes ESA: "Kosmos-482: Out-of-control Russian spacecraft probably just fell to Earth, experts say" https://www.independent.co.uk/space/kosmos-482-russian-spacecraft-satellite-earth-b2748420.html https://www.independent.co.uk/space/kosmos-482-russian-space...
- Kaibeezy 1y agoYeah, frustrating. I posted it when I found it because it looked so promising, then was disappointed to find the data was delayed like everyone else’s. So many pretty dots though. I was going to update the post and then the cat yakked, which is similar, not the same, yet far more impactful on my personal space, gnome sane?

- dchest 1y ago"According to calculations by specialists from TsNIIMash (part of Roscosmos), the spacecraft entered the dense layers of the atmosphere at 9:24 Moscow time, 560 km west of Middle Andaman Island, and fell in the Indian Ocean west of Jakarta." https://t.me/roscosmos_gk/17407 https://t.me/roscosmos_gk/17407
- RetroTechie 1y agoPretty deep ocean around there. So, probably no search party?

- teamonkey 1y agoThis site was tracking the satellite’s path based on reported visual observations. https://www.satflare.com/track.asp?q=6073#TOP https://www.satflare.com/track.asp?q=6073#TOP
- emmelaich 1y agohttps://www.n2yo.com/satellite/?s=6073 https://www.n2yo.com/satellite/?s=6073 was tracking it but then got overloaded (mysql connection errors). But now shows it no longer in orbit.
