- crtasm 1y agoWhile Google is mentioned in some of the user testimonials I don't think the submitter should have added it to the title here.
- george_perez 1y agoI think because it's web-based only, much like Google Docs and the like are. For my Cryptpad replaced Google Docs as a live-collaboration tool.
- rspoerri 1y agoRealtime collaborative text editing is afaik something Microsoft is not doing.
- indigodaddy 1y agoCan you not effectively use it as such, however?
- okanat 1y agoIt is there with Office 365 and VS Code live share. They were among the first to make a complete and commercially successful coediting experience.
- FuriouslyAdrift 1y agoThe webified version of Office goes back years. It used to be a free add-on to SharePoint and allowed up to 64 simultaneous users per document. I believe the current Office 365 came from that codebase as it has similar features.
- crimsoneer 1y agoWhen cryptpad was first launched, MS Office was very much a desktop product and Google was the web first collaboration platform. That's obviously because (a teeny bit) less true.
- ldubost 1y agoI'm from the CryptPad Team. We did not use this sentence. It's the person that posted this that wrote 'Google' However we believe CryptPad can be part of the solution for both Google and Microsoft Now the targets are different. Google has most of individuals and B2C. Microsoft is more the larger companies At this point CryptPad seems to have more tracking on the individual market. For companies, there are different approches like self-hosting. E2EE in companies is a niche market for which collaborative editing is new. So 'Google' as an exit-target is probably yo the right goal
