While I sbsolutely agree there needs to be laws preventing account bans for any website larger than some threshold, this is also a reminder why it is so incredibly vital to support open standards that are not owned by anyone. Like email, IRC. Every walled garden with a single corporate owner will 100% guaranteed abuse that ownership power. The only way forward is open protocols that interoperate without anyone having a controlling interest.
