I didn't realise you can do that. Is the mark incorporated in the design or actually covered?

- schwartzworld 1y agoFlat birthmarks are fine. I was told you can’t tattoo over raised ones, although I suspect this might be more about detecting skin cancer than anything else.
- brokegrammer 1y agoYea my tattoo artist told me that some skin surfaces can't be tattooed but mine was just a weird looking pattern. Could be about skin cancer or macrophages that feed on the ink.
- BizarroLand 1y agoI've seen a video of one person doing birth mark tattoos with pigment that matches their skin color to effectively disappear them. I'm sure if you got a tan or something they would look like a color negative of the originals but for casual appearance that might be something worth looking into.
- brokegrammer 1y agoDefinitely an option. Depending on where you live, it might be possible to maintain the same skin color year round.
- brokegrammer 1y agoI got it covered but I thought about getting a more elaborate design at some point. I wanted something minimalist as my first tattoo to see how it does. Now that I like tattoos I'm gonna experiment more in the future. It's definitely doable and could be a boost in confidence for some people, like it was for me.
