- SketchySeaBeast 1y agoMan, my diet suppressing hormones must be in the same place as my runner's high because when I get home from a long run the thing I want to do most is have a snack.
- thesz 1y agoRunner's high is due to release of endocannabioids: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/35081831/ https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/35081831/ Please, switch to resistance exercises. As these do not release endocannabioids but endorphines, they have appetite suppression effect. Resistance exercises help with sarcopenia and lower risk of all-cause mortality.
- SketchySeaBeast 1y agoI was a powerlifter for almost a decade. I was also by far my heaviest during that time, but thank you for the unrequested medical advice.
- anon291 1y agoYeah I cut down to one meal a day and after a year I just CANNOT eat as much as I used to. The result is permanent as far as I can tell. Or at least it will take me a year of going back to old habits to make my stomach big enough again
- thesz 1y agoI usually have two meals a day, at evening and before sleep. Always after I am done with the work and training. I think the change you experience is not about stomach size, but ketosis. Ketones are such a great source of energy compared to glucose, that raising glucose level by eating feels like you lose something, for me, at least.
