Writing with pencil on paper is very very slow and takes much more space per letter. If you write a lot, chances are high of developing RSI. I'm not even thinking about editing. I don't see how the author advocates 'the tool should be better than the one it replaces' and then chooses not to buy a computer. I got my Atari ST around '87 and i loved it.
