Interesting story. Sadly, I don’t really believe this is the norm in missing person cases but it’s a nice thought that this woman was troubled in her marriage and was able to get out and start a new life. I know many people will take issue with leaving kids, but frankly, a 20 year old having two kids is something we would balk at today by itself. Hard to imagine what that decision is like, but I can’t imagine there were effective remedial strategies for women complaining about their marriage in the ‘60s.
