Don't make Google sell Chrome
- WorldPeas 1y agoIf Google were to sell something, would Android/Chromeos not be the move? So many independent companies derive from it and it's fair to say that it gives Google more of a monopoly advantage. In the United States, many schools are already Chromebook-only, and there's nothing more monopolistic than a device that is literally built to access the services of Alphabet (in drive/gsuite, chrome etc)
- mooreds 1y agoI find this argument compelling. As long as google is invested in promoting the internet, Chrome provides them with a powerful means of doing so.

- aurareturn 1y agoI'd argue that Google's antitrust case is already outdated. OpenAI's search capabilities as well as just normal LLMs are disrupting Google search.
