That's a terrible comparison as much of COVID public policy called for a shut down of the economy, offices, and even paid people to sit at home and not work for significant portions of the year. There were also other perverse incentives in place to further this damage. Our current situation is entirely different and must be viewed using more appropriate comparisons.
