Mega-buildings are now slowing Earth's spin
- lysace 2y agoClick-bait. I don't consider a dam a building.
- EA-3167 2y agoEven if you did (I also don't) the degree of slowing is trivial. Two milliseconds per century isn't worth an article.
- JohnFen 2y agoI think that mankind has built a structure that can measurably slow the earth's rotation is amazing and well worth an article, personally. It may be trivial, but that doesn't mean it's not an interesting thing to learn about.

- thunderassasin 2y agoso is it the moment of inertia thing we all learned in physics??
- paulkrush 2y agoMe, reading just the title and standing up in annoyance, is now slowing Earth's spin. Meanwhile, people showering (because of this so trivial comment) with well water (which ends up in the ocean) are speeding it up the earth by a factor of 1,000 or more.
