I Survived the Front Page of Hacker News Without Crashing My Site
- danielpetrica 1y agoHey HN! I never imagined my blog would land on the front page — and yet, here we are. The traffic spike (over 190k requests in a day) didn’t take my site down thanks to preparation I did last year, particularly with Cloudflare caching and Ghost CMS optimizations. I wrote this to help other devs, indie hackers, and bloggers prepare for their “Hacker News moment” — with real config examples, traffic stats, and lessons learned from self-hosting. Happy to answer any questions or hear how you all approach high-traffic resilience!
