A weird read on the situation. Canada would have a conservative government today if Trump hadn't pushed tariffs back in February. PP just didn't have a strong "rah rah" response to those and it probably cost the conservatives the election. Carney is also very shrewd. He quickly adopted the most popular conservative positions as his own (e.g. "axe the tax") to appeal to conservative voters. The culture war, meanwhile, is very much here. Similar to the US, conservatives did surprisingly well with young men[1].
