I tried a few letter layouts including a Dvorak inspired one. Ultimately it’s easiest to use for most folks if they generally know where to look for a letter from muscle memory. I’ll look into the switched letter tomorrow morning and may adjust. Or I’ll get back to you with the reasoning if it’s intentional.

The placement is intentional. I passed my eyes in a ring around the keys on my left and right hands and roughly placed the Rad Type characters in the position of the corresponding key. V is below F on the keyboard so it's below F on Rad Type. There is a bit of voodoo in the placement. I wouldn't claim it's perfect. If this idea is ever productized, key placement would be an interesting optimization.
