Love Scott’s blog and respect his research and science communication efforts. I also think his political outspokenness is important and refreshing, regardless of whether you happen to agree with the guy. But this was difficult to read, and imho way off the mark. Socially awkward people are very likely to go through life getting called a robot anyway, so I don’t think it’s very helpful to direct them towards robot therapists or robot girlfriends.
