Yahoo to give to a fund for Chinese dissidents, decades after exposing user data
- WarOnPrivacy 2y agoThe first journalist I know outed by Yahoo was Shi Tao (in 2005). He got a 10y hard labor sentence for sharing a doc with a Chinese language site in the US. The doc was what the CCP sent to journalists; it detailed how to self-censor for the 15th anniversary of the Tiananmen Square massacre. ref: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shi_Tao_(journalist) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shi_Tao_(journalist)
