That was my first thought too. I am currently a very happy Synology customer and am selling them to B2B customers for storage. I will still have to come accross something like Hyper Vault for backup and Drive for storage that works (mostly) smoothless. I would be happy to self-host, but the No Work Needed (tm) products of Synology are just great. Sad to see them taking this road.
