90% of all Java codebases are Spring
Spring is a hornets nest of overcomplexity.
But, if you write Java, in the style of 'Pythonic' python, you end up with some really nice, compact, easy to maintain code that goes against practically every Java departments coding standard. And, that what the influence of Spring has done.
You don't have to use private variables. you dont have to use getters and setters. You don't have to use proxyFactoryBean.

- 1oooqooq 2y agospring problem is composability plus the workforce expecting to just plug things as if they were paying customers and never contributing anything back. if you know what you are doing and participate in development of spring or the components you're using, then it's great. but chances are your team just do whatever stack overflow tells them, and probably your http client is even one not updated since 2009 because someone added a typo to your maven files, and instead of fixing it everyone just accepted you must pin java 8 so cd ci doesn't fail "out of nowhere" that's the reason I won't ever touch java. it's even a worse crowd than JavaScript.
