Valid complaint. I felt this exact way when I first started using github 2 years ago, and I almost didn't use it because of that. But everyone is on github. It won. Even if the article makes 100% valid points, that won't change anytime soon, and until then, I'll be on github. And despite the problems mentioned, it is still an awesome free service.
