And no, I do not think it does (unless Gleam decides to target .NET or JVM or implements custom memory management and go for LLVM-IR). F# has more efficient concurrency primitives and on raw computing tasks it's going to be faster by an order of magnitude.
F# is a community-driven language with an access to a vast ecosystem of robust and mature libraries too.
Also I agree with a sibling comment - promoting functional programming is not a zero-sum game and you do not need to smear or post FUD about one FP language in order to advance another. We all lose from this.
