Trumps escalating trade war in 5 scenarios: impact on Dutch economy [Dutch]
- skerit 1y agoTwee woorden ver, en nu vraag ik me af of er in Nederland vaker wordt "gezwalkt" dan er in Vlaanderen wordt "gezwalpt".
- josefritzishere 1y ago"Two words away, and now I wonder whether people "wander" more often in the Netherlands than "wander" in Flanders." I think something is lost in translation.
- toxicunderGroov 1y ago"two words in" and i am already wondering..
- skerit 1y agoKind of. Both mean the same thing. It's more like "wander aimlessly", "drift", maybe even "sway"
- OptionOfT 1y agoI'm a native Flemish speaker, and I've never ever heard either of those 2 words. I'd use 'dwalen' maybe?
- skerit 1y agoI see "zwalpen" from time to time. I also just did a Google (well, Kagi) news search on the word "zwalpen" en "zwalken". The first one only returned Flemish results, the second one only Dutch ones. So I guess it's another difference between us two :D
