Trump threatens new tariffs on smartphones days after exempting them
- duxup 2y agoTrump seems more genuinely mentally unstable or senile every day.
- gigatexal 2y agoRemember when everyone thought Biden was unfit health-wise to govern? What exactly is this bipolar insanity if not a man unfit to govern?
- ndsipa_pomu 2y agoDo you want Vance? Because that's how you get Vance.
- actionfromafar 2y agoYes, (Vance) stable dictator is a local optimum, so it's harder to get out of.
- bigyabai 2y agoIf Trump somehow ends up removed from office, Vance would have to tread carefully in order to avoid the same fate.
- kgwxd 2y agoI want the US's system of checks and balances to be enforced as intended. If they are, and Trump is successfully removed from office (better, arrested) for doing what he's doing, then so could Vance, assuming he also continues to break laws.
- gigatexal 2y agoTrump is never seeing the inside of a cell. He has neutered every agency that would issue real justice. That’s how far gone the US is.
- gigatexal 2y agoVance is even worse. He’s an incompetent, young, articulate, man who could be bought (and was see also Thiel) and will sell America’s allies out to Russia for a nickel.
- duxup 2y agoI'm not sure I see any difference between the two as you describe Vance.

- JumpCrisscross 2y agoWe need an importer to bring a case challenging the Constitutionality of IEEPA under the non-delegation doctrine [1][2]. “Duties on imports or exports” are Constitutionally “subject to the revision and control of the Congress” [3]. This is one of the rare cases where the Constitution names a branch of government when laying out a power. - duxup 2y agoI believe congress has passed laws to give the executive branch leeway setting tariffs. Can it give that away? I don't know.
- JumpCrisscross 2y ago> Can it give that away? I don't know That’s the non-delegation doctrine debate, cited in the above comment.
