The fact that it's apparently so hard to even just confirm he is still alive is what's especially horrifying. The people perpetrating this clearly have no care about how much trust they are eroding in our legal system right now. At least people used to have a reason to submit to an arrest knowing that they were protected by due process. But why would anyone in their right mind want to trust federal authorities right now?
