Who are "they"? Doctors? Do you have quotes to back this up? Because if we're considering the cause of vaccine hesitancy during COVID-19, every component was dwarfed by the full force of conservatives media, politicians and social media influencers lying about the vaccines.

My point is by that time the public health apparatus had already dropped the ball on vaccines. Also, your precis reads as a convenient partisan narrative, with others taking all the blame. Nothing is really that simple. IMHO, it's far more helpful to think about how your side messed up, rather than dwelling on the other side.
