Liberals' trust in authority figures has soared since 2016. It's not just doctors, but also the FBI, CIA, and the Pentagon. Anything that seems critical of Trump, even in a symbolic way, is trusted. I think incidences of injustices and abuse of trust from institutions actually strengthens movement liberal support of them. I think they see corrupt institutions as the most vulnerable to Trump attacks, and therefore the most in need of defense.
