I agree. It would be useful to include additional metrics on things like new/active projects/number of commits/etc. that give a better idea/representation of how active a programming language is. Search queries will only really reflect news around a language, such as an AI paper, Ladybird announcing it is adopting Swift, a language conference (like Google's I/O conferences referencing Kotlin), etc.
