Government jobs are safe because rarely if ever people get fired.

  Until whole departments get gutted on the whims of a new executive or their political appointee department head. And I'm not just talking about Trump. Every mayor, governor, what have you. They all appoint their friends to high places.

    There are a lot of us that live in countries where government jobs are still extremely stable. You’d have to break the law in a very big way to get fired.
