Sabine Hossenfelder: How I Became Particle Physicists' Enemy #1 [video]
- monetus 2y agoIt is reductive, but I feel like most of her viewpoints derive from a personal hate for the experiences she had with her graduate professor. When critized, she doesn't defend well against that point, that she is disenguine in her critiques. As some other commenters have said, her channel made more sense when her audience had been mostly domain experts.

- EA-3167 2y agoI don't think many working physicists pay attention to her, she's turned herself into more of a "pop sci" icon. The problem I think is that she frequently strays far outside of her realm of expertise without the humility required, not unlike Neil deGrasse Tyson or Michio Kaku. If you find that sort of thing entertaining then there's no shame in it, just realize that expertise is generally narrow, non-transferable, and perishable.
