I think of my watch the same way a lot of people think of jewelry, or suits, or things like that. While it does serve a purpose (telling time), the primary reason I wear it is because I like it. It's functional, but mostly decorative. I inherited my watch from my father, and I almost certainly wouldn't spend thousands to buy one myself; but I wear it every time I go out to dinner for anything fancier than that.
